An inspiring school
Chesham Grammar School is a co-educational 11-18 grammar school of nearly 1200 pupils, 245 of whom are in the Sixth Form. We are one of only five mixed grammar schools in Buckinghamshire. We are proud to combine the virtues and values of a traditional grammar school while confidently embracing modern approaches to teaching, learning, technology, leadership and management. We promote high expectations and aim to develop confident, ambitious, caring and accomplished young people who are intellectually curious, hard-working and independently minded.
As an academic school in which pupils achieve some of the best results nationally, we appear prominently in national league tables with some of the best results at both GCSE and A level, placing us within the top three percent. We have a rich and diverse curriculum which enables our pupils to develop their talents and individual potential.
Last year, our pupils achieved a 100 per cent pass rate at GCSE with grades A* to C including English and maths, of these 60 per cent were at A or A* grade. A new record for our school, underlining the great progress that has been made through inspiring, innovative and modern teaching practices. Our aim is to ensure that our pupils attend one of the best schools in Buckinghamshire, obtaining the best education and pastoral care possible. Enriching environment
We are also justifiably proud of our enrichment: we have a very wide range of visits, exchanges and expeditions to places such as Ghana, China, Madagascar, Cambodia, Iceland and Tanzania and the quality of music and drama in the school is simply outstanding. Our pupils participate in a very wide range of sporting activities and compete against the best school athletes at buckinghamshire county and national level.

Our staff are innovative, committed, hardworking and amongst the best in their chosen field. They work tirelessly with students to help them to do their best and achieve beyond their expectation. We implement new techniques and strategies to improve the teaching and learning experience. We believe in cultivating great relationships between our pupils and staff, resulting in exemplary performance which makes ours a wonderful place in which to work and learn. Attending Chesham Grammar School
The school is ideally situated close to the A41 and is within walking distance of the Chesham terminus of the Metropolitan line, making it a viable option for children living within Hertfordshire and Greater London to whom a short journey is acceptable to achieve the quality of education that can be gained from a top selective school such as ours.

Academy status
We are one of several Grammar Schools in Buckinghamshire that have converted to academy status in order to more ably serve our pupils, parents and the local community. We achieved this on August 1st, 2011. This will allow us to further develop our facilities and curriculum in order to ensure and improve our position as one of the best schools in Buckinghamshire and to serve as a potential option for excellent schooling to the wider area including Hertfordshire and Greater London.
